Riaan van Wyk - (Managing Director)

    M.Eng (Metallurgical Engineering) (Cum Laude)

Highlights :

    Riaan started his career as an engineer-in-training at Iscor, Pretoria Works. After a short stay at Iscor, he took up a position as Lecturer in Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Pretoria. During a period of 8 years, he lectured in various engineering subjects, worked on a number of consulting projects and engaged in engineering research.

    In 1988, Riaan joined Sasol as a Divisional Manager. His first responsibilities involved the maintenance of the petro-chemical plant. His responsibilities include managing the Metallurgy and Inspection Department as well as the Welding Workshop. After that he headed Business Development at Sastech in Sasolburg. He was promoted to become the General Manager of Sasol Carbotar in 1996. He was appointed Managing Director of Sasol Wax (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd. In 1999. He led the company to become one of Sasol’s most profitable subsidiaries. He resigned in 2003 to become an entrepreneur.

Highlights:

    Sep is the founder member of Sep Serfontein Consulting, a specialised Organisational Development and Management Consultancy that is respected in one of the pioneers and innovators of planned organisational change and transformation in South Africa.

    Sep has gained more that 28 years consulting experience, serving a wide spectrum industries and sections involving: Government & Local Government, Manufacturing & Engineering, Chemical, Educational, Retail, Agricultural, Tourism, Military, Mining, Banking, Insurance, IT Telecommunications, etc.

    Sep is known for his expertise in strategy formulation and implementation, designing and implementing change management programmes, large-scale organisational transformation and the development and mentoring of leaders. Some recent projects involve: facilitation of the strategy for the City Council of Pretoria (1996/7); the development of a Tourism Strategy for the East Rand region which involved all local government (1997/8) and the development of strategy for PAETA (an agricultural SETA), 2001.

    His approach makes provision for collaborating with clients, and empowering the client to become self sufficient through a transfer of skills. All interventions are based on the philosophy of Process Consultation and internationally accepted OD practices.

    Sep has certified more that 600 OD Consultants through his training programmes.

    He has helped in excess of 100 organisations to formulate strategy and implement change in people, structures, processes and culture.

    He has established a network of local and international experts in the field of Organisational development and change.


Delaine van Zyl - (Director/Management Consultant)

    BA Industrial Psychology; University of Stellenbosch, South Africa ’92 BA (Honns) – Management and Organisational Psychology (pending 2004/5), UNISA; Certified Organisational Development Consultant (SSCG, South Africa); Certified SMS Trainer (SMS Institute, USA); Certified Facilitator (SSCG, South Africa); Certified SSCG Trainer.

Highlights :

    Delaine is active as both Organizational Development Consultant and Trainer of competency based learning interventions to a variety of South African organisations.

    She has gained experience as Facilitator and Project Leader for a variety of change interventions executed in the corporate sector. The typical process followed during an Organisational Development approach involves contracting, co-design, planning, implementation and evaluation of change initiatives in conjunction with Management and an appointed Project Team representing the client organisation. Recent interventions involved:

  • A full-scale design and implementation of Performance Management Processes involving customised Performance and Development criteria for individuals and teams, aligned with the greater organisational vision, values and strategic objectives;
  • A variety of large-scale Project kick-off, framing and alignment sessions involving multiple stakeholders

MOLLIE LYONS (November 2003 – to date)

    Bachelor of Commerce, Majoring in Industrial Psychology, Rand Afrikaans University, South Africa, (1981- 1983); B Comm (Honns) Cum Laude (Personnel Management), University of the Orange Free State (1984); Masters in Commerce (Cum Laude) Industrial Psychology, University of Pretoria (1985 – 1988); Honours in Business Administration, University of Stellenbosch, South Africa (1989); MBA , University of Stellenbosch,(1990).



    She is a registered Industrial Psychologist who focuses on organisation development; competency based training and development and has experience as a HR manager and a consultant in the private and public sector.

    Ms Lyons has been involved in a number of restructure and change management processes in the Retail Industry (Books-, Textiles- and Food Stores). She has facilitated change management processes at the Department of Water Affairs and has recently been a team member and project leader of a sub-project of the decentralisation projects at the University of Pretoria.

    She has developed and facilitated Leadership-, Team-, and Personal and Interpersonal Development Programmes to a broad range of employees and managers.
